The rezemo tips for holidays in the Ländle

regional holiday feeling

Why travel far away when the good things are so close - under this motto, the rezemo team presents you with insider tips for holidays in the region in this blog post. We show you little escapes from everyday life that can be reached despite pandemic-related restrictions and without flight shame. To do this, we set out to document our favorite places in Stuttgart and the surrounding area and tell you about them. With these tips, we want to inspire you to get to know the greater Stuttgart area or your own home better, so that you too can experience the regional holiday feeling.

1. Lena's Oasis at Söhrenberg, Waiblingen

The Söhrenberg is located in the northeast of Waiblingen, near the Waiblingen-Neustadt district. From the "summit" of the hill you have a wonderful view of the surrounding area, Waiblingen and Stuttgart and can enjoy spectacular sunsets. The viewpoint can be reached on foot from the Neustadt-Hohenacker S-Bahn station within 30 minutes.

Especially in spring and summer, you can have a great picnic, drink wine and even have a barbecue up there. However, I don't just associate this place with walks, long evenings with friends and a beautiful view. Since I moved to Waiblingen for my internship at rezemo, the Söhrenberg is for me the "landmark" of this educational, exciting and formative experience that I would never have expected to have during a pandemic.

2. Jonas' view of the Württemberg

For me, the Kappelberg is the perfect place to unwind and reflect on the day. Its view is varied - on the one hand you can enjoy the peace and quiet and admire the burial chapel on the Rotenberg (visible in the picture here), on the other hand you can also watch the Stuttgart basin and the hustle and bustle of the city. If you're lucky, you can even get a seat on one of the relaxing wooden loungers. Perfect for enjoying a last rezemo coffee and ringing in the end of the day.

Directions: Either climb a few meters in altitude by bike or drive comfortably to the Kappelberg hiking car park and walk 200m through the forest.

3. Romy's favorite walk along the Neckar

When I need a break from my everyday life as a student from online classes, there is nothing better for me than going on this walk. The path starts at the Obere Ziegelei subway station in Bad Cannstatt-Sommerrain and leads to the Max-Eyth-See.

From here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the vineyards, which are particularly beautiful in autumn, as well as of Stuttgart and the Neckar. If you feel like it, you can stop at a table tennis table and play a game of table tennis or watch peacocks from a small animal breeding club.

4. Janina's fascinating view of the sea of rocks

Between Heidenheim an der Brenz and Schwäbisch Gmünd on the Alb plateau you can find a very special piece of nature: the Wental rock sea. I find it hard to imagine that this valley was covered by the Jura Sea over 150 million years ago. The only evidence of this today is the many differently shaped dolomite rocks, between which you can walk endlessly and marvel.

Sunbathing lawns between and on the rocks invite you to enjoy a leisurely picnic in the sun - with the best coffee of modern times, of course. The well-earned "summit beer" (or rather rock beer) tastes best in the neighboring restaurant directly opposite the hiking car park.
